The Mall Cafe

Sad café

With a 5 star food hygiene rating this cafe is probably one of the more unusual Cafes in Pembrokeshire, and definitely the best all day breakfast in Pembroke Dock, this cafe location has been based around a music theme.  Decorated in 60's Austin Powers style, the walls display vinyl record albums and singles dating from the early Sixties, Seventies and Eighties.....a real talking point amongst visitors of all ages.

Normal opening hours are 7 days a week between 8am and 2 pm.  The cafe is available for Children's Party Bookings outside of those hours.

First Class disabled access and facilities

It even features a stage with a full drum kit and there is 60's chik "Tracy" who is currently dressed in a typical Austin Powers era, but she does often change to suit her mood.

The real stage has now been installed and has been kitted out with guitar amps and a P.A. System, which now allows the cafe to offer "open mic jam sessions" on the last Sunday every month, where musicians and non-musicians are welcome to come and listen or take part.  The open mic jam sessions normally start at 12 midday through to around 4.00pm.  To check out when these are on, we usually post on facebook.  Just look up S.A.D Cafe in the facebook search engine and you should find us.

S.A.D Cafe, as it is affectionately called, was named after the famous rock band who came out of Manchester in the 70's.  For a few years in the late 70s and early 80s, Sad Café may just have been the best live band on the planet.  You can visit their website at The Official Sad Cafe Website

The cafe is open from 8am Monday to Friday, from 9am on Saturday and between 10am and 2pm on Sundays.

The S.A.D Cafe Experience

Food is cooked fresh to order, with fresh coleslaw being made on the premises daily, Home made beef burgers are also made and prepared fresh daily.  The chocolate cake filled with fresh strawberries and fresh cream served with locally produced Upton Ice Cream is a must.  Fruit fillings may very depending on availability and the season.  The Mall Cafe prides itself on only using the best ingredients, with everything being sourced from local suppliers wherever possible.  If local people love it, then you know it must be good.

Members of the Cosheston Cougars AFC have been enjoying a Saturday morning breakfast is the cafe for some time now.  In fact they have even had a table reserved for them with the Cougars name displayed...........oh and TANK has donated his jacket which "Tracy" is now wearing on the stage.

Saturday 16th October 2010, saw the first visit from members of The 3 Amigo's Motorcycle Charity Group.  One of their members had previously discovered the Cafe and a few members organised a small meet here.  It was fantastic to see some stunning motor bikes displayed in the large FREE PARKING area outside the cafe.  We hope that they enjoyed the hospitality and make the S.A.D Cafe a regular meeting place.

Discussions and plans underway for the 3 Amigo's Annual Toy Run 2010, taking place on Saturday 11th December 2010.
